Job summary

The Department of Transportation in Washington State Auburn area seeks an Executive Officer (XO) at a Level 10 En Route facility. The XO provides direct supervision to the Operations Managers and guides safety, planning, and training to ensure efficient and secure operations.

The role involves mentoring, discipline, and oversight of infrastructure, quality assurance, automation and domestic and international procedures to uphold the highest standards of air traffic control operations.

Qualifications

• Must have held FAA 2152 FG-14 or above regional or HQ position for at least 1 year.
• Must have facility rating or area certification for at least 1 year in an ATS facility; upgraded cases considered meeting requirements.
• Must have held an MSS position or above for at least 1 year in an ATS facility.
• Must meet Revision 1 MSS Qualification Requirements for AT-2152 Terminal and En Route Positions, dated 11/08/99 (MSS-2 or higher or FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or HQ/Region position for 1 year).

Job description

The incumbent is an Executive Officer (XO) at a Level 10 En Route facility. Provides direct supervision to the Operations Managers at the facility. Also, provides guidance, mentoring and discipline to ensure proper and safe working conditions. These activities include planning and infrastructure, quality assurance, systems efficiency, domestic and international procedures, automation, and training.

To qualify for this position you:

• 1. Must have held an FAA 2152 FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year (52 weeks); OR
• 2. Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility; (NOTE: An employee who has been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility that is upgraded is considered to meet the qualification requirements of the upgraded position, since he/she has been performing the higher-graded work); OR
• 3. Must have held a MSS position or above for at least 1 year (52 weeks) in an ATS facility.
• 4. IN ADDITION to meeting the qualification requirements above, candidates MUST also be eligible and meet Revision 1, "MSS Qualification Requirements for AT-2152 Terminal and En Route Positions, (Revision 1) dated 11/08/99". For this particular position, applicants MUST currently hold or have held the position of MSS-2 or higher for at least 1 year (52 weeks) or a FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or higher in a Headquarters or Region position for at least 1 year (52 weeks).
