We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 73,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth.CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are in living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

Women’s Prevention Services (WPS) will implement a trauma-informed, strength-based approach to provide culturally competent prevention and support services for women and girls of color at risk for and living with HIV. The program provides the following services: HIV testing (both by referral and through access to HIV self-tests); referrals to STI and HCV screening and treatment; HIV Navigation Services (HNS); wellness sessions; and social media campaigns. WPS will also conduct two interventions to address social determinants of health (SDOH): case management to address the SDOHs of economic instability and poverty; and food resource events to address the SDOH of food insecurity.

What The Supervisor Does:

  • Prepares marketing materials for the program.
  • Conducts outreach activities to market the program to the community in order to recruit new clients and re-engage former clients.
  • Supervises two Health Educators and oversees training activities.
  • Follows up with clients and with referral organizations regarding client contact and progress with the referral organization.
  • Works with clients to break through barriers to client goals and to assist clients in advocating for themselves and in moving toward self-sufficiency.
  • Contacts clients to ensure adherence to the program and document via progress notes.
  • Inputs client data and client progress information into automated database.
  • Provides all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
  • Creates and maintains client files and makes copies of all client documents.
  • Conducts initial and ongoing assessments of clients’ situations and needs.
  • Plans, coordinates, and facilitates client wellness groups and Food Resource Fairs.
  • May escort clients to appointments (educational, medical, social service, etc.)
  • May assist clients in completing applications for benefits and entitlements and may process applications on clients’ behalf.
  • May assist clients with workforce development activities (referring to job development resources, identifying job opportunities, etc.)
  • Maintains professional relationships with clients and client confidentiality.
  • Practices universal precautions.
  • Complies with all Federal, State, City and CAMBA security and privacy policies intended to protect the security and privacy of individually identifiable health information.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Sufficient education and technical expertise: to comprehend written and oral instructions (work orders); basic math to accomplish maintenance tasks; and to document accomplished tasks.

Other Requirements:

  • One (1) year of relevant experience, preferably in a mid-sized (250+ employees) organization.
  • Good written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, Google, and Canva.
  • Knowledge about, understanding of, and ability to work closely with, persons with HIV/AIDS and related issues.
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole. (Preferred)

Compensation: $53,000 annually
When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate.This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.

Status: Full-time (35 hours per week) (Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM)
