Job summary

Sonepar USA Inc is looking for a Wire Supervisor to manage wire products effectively at their Katy, Texas location. This role requires strong communication skills, manual dexterity, and experience in operating PIT.

Qualifications

• College degree with 2 years or more directly related experience and/or training.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• PIT proficiency is a plus; current certification preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensure wire products are handled appropriately to prevent damage.
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks including forklifts.
• Stage product for loading and unload materials from trucks.
• Develop and lead a team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Strong communication skills
• Learn and understand differences in wire sizes and types
• Ensure wire products are handled appropriately to prevent damage during cutting, storage, or shipment
• Learn to use and train others to use machines specifically intended for cutting and measuring wire
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English
• Write routine reports and correspondence
• Perform basic math operations in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and OSHA safety standards
• Stage product for loading
• Unload materials from truck
• Move materials to warehouse for storage
• Ensure no damaged product is sent out and no damaged material is accepted in
• Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) including reach trucks, order pickers, and sit‑down propane forklifts
• Complete daily and weekly logs for PIT and quality processes
• Clean and maintain work areas
• Develop and lead a team
• Apply wire cutting knowledge
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• College degree with 2 years or more directly related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
• PIT proficiency (reach truck, order picker, sit‑down propane forklift). Current certification is a plus
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and handling small parts
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Work Environment

• Long and varied hours may be required occasionally
• Ability to perform mandatory physical inventory
• Ability to work in extreme hot or cold environments
• Ability to work in dusty conditions
