UPMC Health Plan - Supervisor, WC Premium Audit

UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Supervisor for the Workers Compensation (WC) Premium Audit team. This position supports the Workers Comp Underwriting team and offers a primarily remote work environment, with the employee expected to work standard daylight hours EST.

This role reports to the Underwriting Support Manager and involves managing the audit staff, as well as coordinating operations related to Workers Compensation premium audits.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage work activities and oversee the performance and development of reporting staff, aligning with the department's strategic goals.
  2. Establish and review performance goals, including stretch goals, and communicate progress while addressing issues affecting team service quality.
  3. Collaborate with others to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, assisting subordinates in resolving high-visibility issues.
  4. Act with urgency and accountability in resolving issues.
  5. Identify process improvements within the Premium Audit Team to enhance customer experience.
  6. Monitor team performance against established targets.
  7. Stay updated on trends and developments within the functional area and the insurance industry.
  8. Facilitate and coordinate training initiatives within the team as needed.
  9. Monitor and coordinate the completion of premium audits, ensuring timely receipt from vendors and managing audit disputes.
  10. Respond to escalated audit questions related to risk classification, class codes, state rules, and other inquiries from policyholders, brokers, and staff.
  11. Provide status updates and reports to management.
  12. Monitor audit final disputes and communicate with stakeholders as necessary.
  13. Manage vendor quality through reviews, oversee vendor invoices, and ensure service expectations are met.
  14. Manage the state test audit program, including file submissions, rebuttal processes, and reporting on test audit results.
  15. Perform additional tasks related to the premium audit function.
