Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in San Diego seeks a skilled Ambassador to lead and oversee departmental operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to regulations. You will manage materials, schedules, and staff training for ongoing park operations.

The role requires 18+, high school diploma or equivalent, and leadership experience in water-related maintenance. Valid SCUBA certification and CPR are required, with the ability to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a working diver in aquatic life support or water treatment facility.
• Minimum 2 years’ leadership experience in Water Quality or similar Maintenance Shop.
• Strong knowledge of fluid hydraulics and advanced water treatment processes.
• SCUBA certification and ability to pass pre-employment dive physical.
• CPR training/certification required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to swim and work in/around water.
• Ability to stand for long periods; able to lift/push/pull 80 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, twist, and turn with flexibility.
• Availability for varying shifts to match park hours.

Responsibilities

• Support budget control for the Manager/Director.
• Approve daily timesheets and weekly schedules for ambassadors.
• Train and transition new hires.
• Collaborate with other departments.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as instructed by management.

What You Get To Do

• Oversee and be able to perform all tasks of within the department
• Main resource of technical information for the department
• Implement and execute the company directives on the day to day operation
• Order and maintain the proper stock of materials to ensure smooth operation of the department
• Maintain and provide oversight for environmental and safety regulations for the department operations
• Maintain and provide support to the Manager/Director for budget control
• Maintain and approve daily timesheets and weekly schedules of all ambassadors within the department
• Responsible for transitioning and training of new hires
• Assist and maintain open communication with other departments
• Perform other departmental ah hoc duties as instructed by management

What It Takes To Succeed

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a working diver in an aquatic life support facility or other water treatment facility.
• Must have a minimum 2 years’ of leadership experience in Water Quality or similar Maintenance Shop
• Must have strong knowledge of fluid hydraulics and advanced water treatment processes
• Must be SCUBA certified and be able to pass a pre-employment dive physical
• Must be able to complete provided CPR training/certification
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to swim and work in/around water
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift, push/pull 80 pounds
• Must be able to bend, reach, twist, and turn with complete flexibility
• Must be available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts

Desired Qualifications

• Possession of a valid state driver’s license preferred
• Experience with risk management and safety monitoring preferred

Compensation: $37.00 per hour
