Job summary

AbbVie Inc. seeks a Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and services supply chain operations, ensuring safe, compliant processes and reliable service to internal and external customers.

You will collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Facilities, Transportation, and other teams to drive operational excellence and timely delivery of materials and services. Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, inventory management, or related operations; 5 years preferred.
  • Experience supervising employees in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems, ERP systems, or inventory-control platforms.
  • Experience in regulated industries (pharma/biotech/medical devices) is a plus.
  • Audits/inspections/corrective actions experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily picking, staging, packing, shipping, and material-handling activities.
  • Coordinate warehouse schedules, staffing assignments, workload balancing, and shift coverage.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees.
  • Assign daily work and communicate priorities, expectations, performance standards, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor service levels and resolve operational issues affecting production or customers.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable work environment and culture.
  • Support onboarding, training, qualification, and cross-training activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety practices.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality requirements, and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, inventory flow, space utilization, cost, quality, and customer service.
  • Escalate service disruptions, equipment issues, or resource constraints promptly.
  • Use operational data and metrics to identify trends and root causes.
  • Support business continuity, contingency planning, and readiness activities.

Position Summary

The Supervisor, Warehouse/Services Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and supply chain service operations, including order fulfillment, shipping, material handling, and related support services. This role leads warehouse personnel, ensures safe and compliant operations, and supports reliable service to internal and external customers.

The Supervisor partners with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Facilities, Transportation, and other cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and timely delivery of materials and services.

Position Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily picking, staging, packing, shipping, and material-handling activities.
  • Coordinate warehouse schedules, staffing assignments, workload balancing, and shift coverage.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, inventory management, manufacturing supply chain, or related operations. 5 years of experience is preferred.
  • Experience supervising or leading employees in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems, enterprise resource planning systems, or inventory-control platforms.
  • Working knowledge of material handling, shipping and receiving, and warehouse safety.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, or other highly regulated industries as a plus.
  • Experience supporting audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective or preventive actions as a plus.
