Job summary

Tronair Inc. is seeking a Supervisor, Warehouse, to manage daily operations including receiving, material handling, and put-away for manufacturing and customer orders.

You will lead a ~20-person team, assign schedules, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement across departments, ensuring timely and accurate execution of work with a strong ownership mindset.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; college degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of direct experience leading or supporting CI/Kaizen or Gemba events and culture.
  • Familiar with Lean and 5S concepts.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Summary

The Supervisor, Warehouse, is responsible for managing all daily operations related to receiving, material handling and put-away and overall warehouse organization/management, kitting and material picking for manufacturing orders and customer orders, and inbound/outbound for OSS.

Essential Functions
  • Confidently and successfully supervises, coaches, develop, and leads a team of roughly 20 individuals across multiple areas to achieve daily, weekly, and periodic departmental goals. Recognizes individual team member strengths and opportunities and creates pathways to operational achievement based on these identified skills.
  • Ensure daily work schedules are assigned appropriately, staff are allocated properly, and assigned work is completed each day to quality standards. Can appropriately plan workload given knowledge of capacity and consistently work to improve productivity to increase effective capacity.
  • Ensures that each area clears its daily scheduled work, appropriately escalates issues that the department cannot independently resolve, and that work is completed according to schedule.
  • Identifies key areas of operational success, creates and develops output and efficiency metrics, and supports process growth and change to achieve established goals. Utilizes team to explore improvement opportunities and implement departmental changes while also demonstrating continuous improvement. Executes improvement plans with independence, confidence, and trust.
  • Successfully builds teams to operate cohesively and in unity with one another as well as between departments. Creates and nurtures strong supportive partnerships between department staff and leadership plantwide.
  • Demonstrates forward‑looking vision and develops plans for a future business state.
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained to properly achieve the department objectives; this includes training in our management systems (Paperless and XA) as well as training in proper procedures; if procedures do not exist or are not adequate, takes the lead in developing and rolling out required procedures and associated measures. Works with Manager to develop training materials and SOP for new employees as well as existing employee development.
  • Reviews and follows up on all HR‑related forms, administers corrective action, and takes appropriate actions to correct the situation and improve the department; is comfortable having performance / behavior improvement conversations with employees.
  • Able to use process flow maps, analytical tools, and metrics to analyze and improve processes, lead small Continuous Improvement or Kaizen events, and execute improvement plans.
  • Works directly with Team Leaders in Receiving, Outside Service processing, and Material Handling to ensure each department meets expectations of its down‑stream customers in terms of timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and responsiveness. Develop Team Leaders and support individualized growth plans.
  • Demonstrates an “ownership mindset” in decision making that is thorough, detailed, actionable, and timely.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ability to write professional correspondence primarily via email
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization.
Mathematical, Analytical, and Reporting Skills
  • Ability to develop and implement Key Performance Metrics appropriate to the departments being managed; enable and manage on‑going reporting and assessment of performance to target
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to conduct analysis to create understanding of root causes and to drive corrective action and improvement
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in primarily standardized situations.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently listen and communicate with others
  • Frequently required to sit and work at a computer, sometimes for an extended period of time.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing shop and office environment
    • Exposure to noise, heat/cold, fumes, and dust while in the manufacturing facility.
    • Office environment is usually quiet.
