Job summary

Lakeside Foods, Inc. in Owatonna, MN is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead labeling lines, supervise staff, and ensure accurate labeling and timely production. You will study production orders, maintain labeling schedules, and collaborate with maintenance to keep operations safe and efficient.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or 2–3 years related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all employees on labeling lines.
• Assist with New Pack seasonal employees.
• Study production orders to assure type and quantity of labels.
• Assist in creating labeling schedules for customer orders.
• Observe labeling operations and inspect labeled cans.
• Start, adjust and repair labeling machinery or notify maintenance.
• Complete MSS sheets for all Labeling Lines.
• Complete inventory checks and daily reports.
• Maintain open communications with all Managers and corporate office.
• Train employees and supervise clerical staff.
• Cross-train and assist shipping supervisor as needed.
• Adhere to Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:

• Supervise all employees on labeling lines.
• Assist with New Pack seasonal employees.

• Start, adjust and repair labeling machinery or notify maintenance department.
• Ensure all MSS sheets for all Labeling Lines are completed and being performed.
• Completing Monthly and yearly cycle counts or as needed/asked.
• Completing inventory checks to ensure supplies are ordered on time.
• Completing daily reports, log sheets or other paperwork that is needed by manager.
• Maintain open communications with all Manager and corporate office.
• Training of employees.
• Assist in supervising clerical staff.
• Cross train and assist shipping supervisor as needed.
• Adhere to all Lakeside Foods policies and procedures.
• May perform other duties as assigned by the warehouse manager/Assistant Manager.
• Notify manager immediately if any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are discovered.

What You'll Bring:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of identified variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
