Description

The Supervisor of Transportation and Hauling Division, oversees and is ultimately responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations, customer service and retention, safety, compliance, efficiency, and profitability of the division.

Essential Functions:

Customer Service and Sales:

  • · Responsible for ensuring the division delivers top-notch customer service in accordance with the company’s core philosophy, “If it’s service, it’s us”.
  • · Works in conjunction with the Director of Sales in planning and establishing marketing plans and objectives.
  • · Ensures that all company employees properly represent the company.
  • · Growth of the division through seeking and obtaining new business, and through retention of current customers.
  • · Acts as liaison to all customers, municipalities and districts serviced.

Operations:

  • · Holds ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the division.
  • · Responsible for planning and controlling operations to ensure daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly operational goals are met or exceeded.
  • · Responsible for ensuring all required reporting is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • · Responsible for ensuring 100% environmental compliance standards are met.
  • · Responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel and that OSHA standards are met.
  • · Responsible for planning and controlling all equipment and maintenance needs.
  • · Responsible for ensuring the facilities are maintained in accordance with company standards.
  • · Responsible for ensuring adequate personnel staffing is maintained in order to service all accounts in an efficient manner, to include hiring, training, and development of employees.
  • · Reviews and approves all purchases for the division.
  • · Ensures that all company policies and procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations are strictly adhered to.

Accounting:

  • · Responsible for the implementation and adherence to the operational and financial plan of the division.
  • · Responsible to ensure the monthly budget is met.
  • · Responsible for each line of business for profitability.
  • · Responsible for accounts receivable, collections, and billing.
  • · Responsible for timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting as required by the corporate accounting department.

Job Qualifications:

  • · A college degree in business, with five plus years of experience in a management capacity.
  • · Experience in the transportation/solid waste disposal industry. A CDL license is preferred.
  • · A working knowledge of all aspects of human resources functions.
  • · Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • · Good interpersonal skills.
  • · A self-starter with sound leadership abilities who is organized and motivated to succeed.
  • · The ability to prioritize needs, have a sense of urgency and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • · Experience utilizing Microsoft Office software products and be able to navigate the Internet and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • · Computer literacy.
