McLane Company, Inc. in Taylorville, IL is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to directly supervise a team of Drivers and oversee daily distribution operations, ensuring safe, on-time deliveries to customers through routing knowledge and dispatch procedures.

This role requires at least 1 year in transportation management in food distribution, knowledge of DOT regulations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of transportation management experience in food distribution.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations; AS/400 experience preferred.
• Truck routing software experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Able to read, write and understand English at a functional level.

Responsibilities

• Achieve safe, timely, and accurate deliveries to customers via routing knowledge and dispatch procedures.
• Review driver logs, hours of service, and other DOT requirements to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate activities with other distribution center departments to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
• This position has additional duties and may participate in special projects at the supervisor's discretion.

The Transportation Supervisor provides direct supervision for a group of assigned Drivers.

What you’ll do as a Transportation Supervisor:

• Achieve safe, timely, and accurate deliveries to customers via a thorough working knowledge of multi-stop routing systems and dispatch procedures.
• Review driver logs, hours of service, and other DOT requirements to ensure compliance with all state, local and federal regulations.
• Coordinate activities with other distribution center departments to ensure that accurate and timely deliveries occur.
• This position has additional duties. Special projects may be assigned at the position supervisor's discretion.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a Transportation Supervisor:

Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent required.

• Have at least 1 year of transportation management experience in the food distribution industry.
• Be knowledgeable about DOT regulations.
• AS/400 experience is preferred.
• Truck routing software experience preferred.
• Be able to work a varied and flexible schedule.
• Have basic competency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
