Overview1. Job Summary
The Supervisor at Thompson Hospitality Services (THS) is a key operational leader responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities of front-line staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service, food safety, and operational efficiency. The Supervisor supports management by improving team performance, maintaining standards, and ensuring a positive and professional environment in alignment with the core values of Thompson Hospitality.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate dining facility staff, assigning tasks and providing guidance for smooth operations and service quality.
- Train and instruct staff on customer service, complaint resolution, and maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Manage daily operations, including scheduling, inventory, and waste reduction to optimize efficiency and control costs.
- Conduct training for new and current employees on safety, service protocols, and job-specific tasks.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and university policies for a safe dining environment.
Working Conditions / Physical RequirementsRegular bending, lifting, and carrying of supplies or equipment up to 50 lbs.
ResponsibilitiesThe Food Service Supervisor serves as a leader in cash operations, ensuring proper food assembly and service, maintaining sanitation and safety, and supervising retail associates.
Essential Functions- Responsible for cash handling and completing reports such as inventory, cash, and production reports.
- Assist with menu planning and ordering using company programs.
- Participate in selecting and onboarding new associates; oversee training.
- Develop and post work schedules for associates.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies regarding food, safety, and loss prevention.
Client and Customer Satisfaction/Relations- Maintain client satisfaction to ensure account retention.
- Ensure adherence to client contracts.
- Follow up on surveys from customers, clients, and associates.
- Prepare a monthly, weekly, and daily events calendar.
Program Quality and Standards- Ensure compliance with company standards.
- Provide positive feedback to staff on successful program implementation.
- Meet all quality and service standards and regulatory requirements.
- Encourage creativity and innovation within standards.
Business Growth and Marketing- Implement and adhere to marketing programs.
- Identify new sales and revenue opportunities.
Financial- Achieve financial goals for retail areas.
- Manage expenses and ensure accurate financial data.
- Oversee staffing and productivity for cash operations.
- Monitor cash control processes and conduct semi-annual contribution analysis.
