Position Summary

Provides on-site support, training, and communication regarding the reprocessing of surgical instruments and trays to contracted facilities in compliance with standards and policies. Coordinates and manages day-to-day operations of SPD employees.

Duties
  1. Oversees daily operations related to reprocessing of medical supplies, ensuring compliance with standards.
  2. Supports staff training, orientation, and quality assurance programs.
  3. Promotes a Lean work environment and maintains professional communication.
  4. Represents IMS positively and practices within scope of certification.
  5. Supports policies and refers decisions beyond personal scope to leadership.
  6. Coordinates repairs and assists with order processes.
  7. Maintains professional appearance and punctuality.
  8. Leads and schedules staff, and reviews documentation.
  9. Ensures proper handling of hospital property and timely delivery of sterilized instruments.
  10. Addresses facility issues and maintains effective relationships with hospital departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervision and coordination of sterile processing team.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum three years SPD experience, including one year in leadership.
  • Active certification in sterile processing (CBSPD or IAHCSMM).
  • Strong computer skills, experience with tracking systems preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel if assigned.
  • Knowledge of instruments and OR operations, excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, perform physical tasks, and work flexible shifts.
Physical Demands

Regular standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.

Additional Information

Pay range: $58,250 - $81,637.50, with potential bonus. Benefits include comprehensive healthcare and more. Equal Opportunity Employer.
