Job summary

Providence St. Peter Hospital is seeking a Supervisor for Sterile Processing. The role provides day-to-day management of processes, supplies, and quality improvement initiatives, while also supervising regular, on-call and float staff under the Clinical Manager’s direction.

The position emphasizes clinical involvement and ongoing supervision of sterile processing activities, with a focus on maintaining high-quality services and operational efficiency within the department.

Qualifications

• 5 years of Sterile Processing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• 2 years of Lead experience.
• Completion of a Central Supply Technician (or surgical technology) accredited course.
• National Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association upon hire.
• National Certified Healthcare Leader - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association upon hire or
• National Certified Instrument Specialist - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association upon hire

Responsibilities

• Supervise regular, on-call and float staff.
• Manage processes, supplies, and quality improvement projects of Sterile Processing.
• Oversee information systems necessary for SP functioning with Information Services.
• Evaluate and assure new technology.
• Remain active clinically as well as manage the processes.

Job description

Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Supervisor, Sterile Processing (SP) provides supervision and problem solving to staff, and provides day to day management of processes, supplies, and quality improvement projects of Sterile Processing to ensure the highest quality of services is delivered. Supervises regular, on-call and float staff. In conjunction with the Clinical Manager, negotiate and manage supply resources in conjunction with PSPH Purchasing. Oversee information systems necessary for SP functioning in conjunction with Information Services. Evaluate and assure new technology. Supervisor will be active clinically as well as manage the processes.
