Job summary

Workwear Outfitters is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to oversee daily shipping operations in our distribution center. You will lead the shipping team, ensure orders are processed, shipped, and billed accurately and on time, and coordinate with other departments to meet schedules.

The role demands strong leadership, hands-on warehouse experience, and the ability to plan, prioritize, and maintain safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years in warehouse/logistics operations.
• 1–2 years supervisory or team lead experience.
• Experience overseeing order processing and loose pick operations.
• Experience training and developing warehouse staff.

Job Summary

Reports to the DC Distribution Manager. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily shipping operations within the distribution center, ensuring customer orders are processed, shipped, and billed accurately and on time. This position provides leadership to the shipping team, coordinates workflow across departments, manages inventory and payroll functions, and promotes a safe, efficient, and productive work environment while meeting company standards and customer expectations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervises, coaches, and supports shipping team members to ensure efficient daily operations.
• Assigns and monitors daily workloads to meet shipping schedules and productivity goals.
• Coordinates employee schedules, attendance, and vacation requests to maintain adequate staffing levels.
• Addresses employee concerns and recommends corrective or disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
• Promotes a safe, organized, and productive work environment by ensuring compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
• Collaborates with management to identify opportunities for process improvements and increased operational efficiency.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse, distribution center, or logistics operations.
• At least 1-2 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Experience overseeing order processing, loose pick operations, and workflow coordination.
• Experience training, coaching, and developing warehouse associates.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and twist frequently.
• Ability to climb stairs and work in a warehouse/distribution center environment.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment and warehouse technology, including computers and handheld scanners.
• Ability to read shipping documents, labels, and computer screens.
• Manual dexterity to handle paperwork and operate warehouse equipment.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions, including exposure to dust, noise, and changing temperatures.
• Ability to safely navigate a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, or flexible schedules as needed to meet business demands.
