Job summary

Job Description

The Supervisor, Security Systems will be responsible for enterprise-wide security systems, including access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, and other programs required for the protection of AbbVie resources and assets. This role provides strategic guidance and tactical support for new installations, upgrades to existing systems, and problem resolution for AbbVie sites globally. It requires strong collaboration and influence with other AbbVie functions and outside service providers.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for planning, development, and deployment of security systems for AbbVie locations globally.
• Develop (no coding) physical security plans (access control, surveillance, alarms) and configure applications to meet site requirements.
• Partner with BTS for infrastructure and/or application changes that require a system life‑cycle management process.
• Develop and communicate long‑range plans for security system deployment across the enterprise.
• Provide technical expertise for project scoping, planning, requirements gathering, and technical support of security systems. Responsible for project budgets.
• Evaluate and benchmark AbbVie’s security system posture against industry standards and make appropriate recommendations for identified gaps, anticipating future technologies and required competencies.
• Develop and maintain relationships and performance standards for third‑party integrators and contractors.
• Responsible for policies, procedures, and training related to security systems, including badging activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as the CDC and DEA.
• Lead and develop a security systems team responsible for access control, technical support, system upgrades, and other security initiatives as required.
• Manage installations and conversions of the access control systems globally, including managing third‑party vendors providing support and direction as needed.
• Ensure compliance with applicable corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain and pursue appropriate system certifications for self and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 7–8 years of experience in security systems implementation and deployment, or related fields.
• Demonstrated progressive leadership experience in people or large, complex project management.
• Experience with security integration and project management ability; lead and develop a qualified security system team.
• Genetec certification.
• High level of communication skills, both verbal and written.
