In this Supervisor role you will assist IPRO’s Senior Director and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), Office of Aging and Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities with oversight of surveillance and investigation activities. These activities are mandated to evaluate facility performance and monitor the quality of care and services provided. Duties include but are not limited to: working with IPRO’s designated staff to ensure correct invoicing are submitted for staff; ensuring contract staff complete all the necessary trainings for surveillance activities, facilitating oversight surveys and provide feedback and guidance to OPWDD staff; coordinating and assisting in providing preceptor surveillance training to Department surveyors, contract surveyors and staff from OPWDD. Participating in surveys or complaint investigations and perform surveillance activities/tasks at Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities to determine compliance with Federal and State requirements for Conditions of Participation, working under the direction of the NYSDOH ICF/IID Bureau Director/Designee. Producing required reports, written documentation, and draft/review Statement of Deficiencies (SOD) within required timeframes, using Principles of Documentation. Review Plans of Correction as directed, complete data entry in Federal and State reporting databases within the required timeframes, providing technical assistance to state and IPRO personnel where appropriate and provide immediate assistance in emergency/urgent situations/ as determined by program management.
The position is in the NYSDOH Regional office located in Albany or Central Islip and conducting surveillance/investigation activities throughout New York State at designated ICF/IID facilities.
Non-travel days are based in the NYSDOH Albany or Central Islip office or telecommuting, if approved.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Currently licensed and registered in New York State, required. Bachelor’s degree, in any health care related field. Two years clinical experience with individuals with intellectual disabilities or in developmental facilities and deemed QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Professional) and ability to meet the federal requirements for attaining QIDP Certification within six (6) months of hire date, required.
OR
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) and and licensed in New York State or Master’s degree in any other health care related field, required. Two years of clinical experience with intellectual or in developmental facilities and deemed QIDP (Qualified Intellectual Professional) and ability to meet the federal requirements for attaining QIDP Certification within six (6) months of hire date, required.
Two (2) years of supervisory experience, required.
The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The salary range for this position is $90,000.00- $97,500.00. Actual salary range and /or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.
