Job summary

Roxborough Memorial Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, seeks a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to lead the cardiopulmonary services team. This full-time role requires clinical excellence across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations, with focus on ABG analysis and ventilator management.

Ideal candidates hold RCP license, NBRC credential, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP, and a BS/AS in respiratory care, with 5 years of acute/subacute experience; NICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current State RCP license required.
• NBRC RRT credential or eligible within 3 months.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications on hire and maintained.
• BS/AS degree preferred and 5 years' acute/subacute experience; NICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the Cardiopulmonary services team and equipment.
• Provide diagnostic testing and arterial blood gas analysis; operate ABG analyzers.
• Support day-to-day operations; assist Manager/Medical Director; care for patients across all ages.

Roxborough Memorial Hospital is a 131-bed community hospital. Responsibilities

Leads and directs the technical personnel, activities, and equipment of the Adult Cardiopulmonary services. Promotes healing of acutely ill patients whose cardiac or pulmonary systems have been compromised through illness or injury through the provision of respiratory care, diagnostic testing, providing for the psycho-social needs of the patient, and patient education. Encourages and enhances the progression and efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Services Department. Treats patients from newborn, pediatrics, adolescents, young, middle, and older adults. When requested, assists day-to-day operations of the Cardiopulmonary Department, referring out-of-the –ordinary issues to the Manager and/or Medical Director, as appropriate. Provides diagnostic testing to the patient to help optimize the total care given. Performs arterial punctures for blood gas analysis; knowledge in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and quality control of ABG analyzers. Abilities to use mechanical ventilators, bi-level ventilation equipment, peak flow meters, ability to perform respiratory assessment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required.
• 2. Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• 3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire and maintain current.
• 4. Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the AHA or ARC certification upon hire and maintain current.
• 5. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the AHA certification upon hire and maintain current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• 6. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 7. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• 8. Five (5) years of acute or subacute respiratory care experience as respiratory care practitioner required.
• 9. At least one (1) year of experience in NICU preferred.
