Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Supervisory Respiratory Therapist to maintain clinical expertise and oversee staff and students in the clinical setting at Medical City Dallas.

The role supports care for neonates through adolescents (and some adults) and requires applying scientific knowledge to respiratory procedures and emergency management. Excellent supervisory abilities are needed.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school for Respiratory Care, recognized by the NBRC.
• Minimum of two years college.
• Two years’ experience in respiratory care is required.
• Credentialed as CRT or RRT by NBRC.
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provided.
• Experience in a supervisory position preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clinical expertise and practices as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and supervises staff and students in the clinical setting.
• Communicates and cares for neonates through adolescents, with occasional adult patients.
• Exercises judgment within the medical plan of care, department policy and licensure acts.
• Possesses knowledge of respiratory therapeutics and diagnostic assessment.
• Applies scientific knowledge, uses respiratory equipment and performs multiple procedures.
• Capable of performing CPR without limitation and responds to emergent respiratory situations.

Apply scientific knowledge; use a variety of respiratory equipment; and perform multiple technical procedures.

Make discriminating observation.

Must be capable of performing CPR without limitation, and respond to all emergent situations to manage the patients’ respiratory status.
