Shift: Full-time Days - 6:30am-7:00pm

Job Title: Supervisor, Respiratory Care

The Supervisor of Respiratory Care is responsible for the daily operations within the clinical setting to ensure the delivery of quality service and optimal patient flow.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate staffing needs and review coverage daily to meet patient care requirements.
• Assist with clinical evaluation of team members, complete performance evaluations, and conduct assessments.
• Participate in hiring and evaluating team members.
• Monitor compliance with certifications, licenses, and education requirements.
• Coordinate and participate in patient care ensuring compliance with physician orders and policies.
• Perform direct patient care activities as needed.
• Interface with patients and families for instruction and coordination of respiratory activities.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory policies.
• Design, implement, and evaluate respiratory care models to improve service quality.
• Utilize evidence-based clinical respiratory care practices.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with team members and groups.
• Promote change and effective fiscal management.
• Contribute to strategic and financial planning of the department.
• Maintain exemplary customer service and professional accountability.
• Precept new supervisors or mentor team members.
• Manage personnel functions including hiring, work assignments, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance and compliance with policies.
• Participate in process improvement activities.
• Interpret patient requirements based on age-specific needs and provide appropriate respiratory care.

Education/Training

• Graduate from an approved school of Respiratory Care and be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care, Cardiopulmonary Sciences, Business Administration, or Health Science Administration preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Maintain current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in Florida.
• Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification; ACLS, PALS, or NRP as required by specialty.

Experience

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a registered respiratory therapist in an acute care setting.
