General Description

The Ski Rental Shop/Discovery Ridge Activity Center (DRAC) Supervisor assists in the day-to-day seasonal operations of the Ski Rental Shop and DRAC in conjunction with the Manager and Assistant Manager. The Supervisor will manage from 5-30 staff on any given shift and must have the leadership skills to manage and motivate a large staff especially during the winter season. Some equipment certification required.

General Description

The Ski Rental Shop/Discovery Ridge Activity Center (DRAC) Supervisor assists in the day-to-day seasonal operations of the Ski Rental Shop and DRAC in conjunction with the Manager and Assistant Manager. The Supervisor will manage from 5-30 staff on any given shift and must have the leadership skills to manage and motivate a large staff especially during the winter season. Some equipment certification required.

This is Full Time, year-round position alternating from DRAC to Ski Rental Shop seasonally.

Special Job Requirements/Qualifications

Prior supervisory experience is highly desirable. Applicants should have the leadership qualities and motivational skills necessary to effectively manage and motivate a large staff of inexperienced, temporary employees. The ability and energy to work long shifts. Weekends and holidays are required. Prior knowledge of ski or resort industries is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to stand for 8-10 hours, and able to lift up to 30 pounds.

SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES

• Represent Wintergreen Resort in a positive, professional manner.
• Assists Rental Shop & DRAC Managers in training and appraising performance of seasonal staff.
• Responsible for assigning and directing work of seasonal staff.
• Greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Addresses and resolves complaints from guests and employees relating to the rental operation.
• Supervises and assists boot fitting, Guest check-in, host station, equipment dispatch and return.
• Responsible for resolving guests rental locker issues.
• Responsible for opening or closing of the shop or center during assigned shift.
• Delegates tasks in the role of Manager on duty; including but not limited to staff line up, daily 5 min meeting, equipment sweep, clean up, accident investigation, assigning lunch breaks and adjusting for days business levels including staffing and back stock equipment.
• Address any safety issues that may arise by contacting appropriate department to handle the issue or reporting to Rental / DRAC Manager or Ski Director
• Assist with preseason and postseason set up and break down of the Rental Shop.
• Assist with preseason and postseason set up and break down of DRAC.
• Must cover Rental or DRAC Attendant duties as needed
• Adhere to department uniform and grooming standards for self and direct reports.
• Report to work on-time for all scheduled shifts
• Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen Handbook.
• Must be able to take on additional assignments and tasks assigned by the manager.
