Job Summary
Responsible for the direct provision of patient care and for assisting the manager with daily operations, including coordination of patient care/outcomes, resource allocation, communication, patient throughput, program development and oversight, rounding with patients, physicians, and staff, staff recruitment and development, clinical supervision, performance appraisal, quality improvement, service recovery, and regulatory compliance. Maintains clinical and professional competency appropriate to the patient population.Work involves walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must lift and support up to 35 pounds. Fluent in English, with good senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Requires finger dexterity, critical thinking, and concentration.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure in the appropriate state. Minimum two years nursing experience preferred. Management experience preferred. BSN required. External or internal RN candidates without a BSN must enroll in a BSN program within 1 year and complete it within 3 years. BLS certification required. Professional certification within 1 year of eligibility is required. Additional qualifications may be specified by the department.
