Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years armed security experience or 1 year in full-duty law enforcement.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension).
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

  • Perform supervisory tasks related to scheduling, audits and reporting.
  • Verify identification and conduct inquiries at entry/exit points; monitor for suspicious items and people.
  • Control access to restricted areas and secure incident scenes.
  • Coordinate receipt, issuance and tracking of keys, key cards, passes, decals, etc.
  • Inspect packages, briefcases, and items entering or leaving a federally controlled facility.
  • Operate security screening devices (metal detectors, X-ray) and conduct vehicle inspections.
  • Conduct searches and frisks (as permitted) and manage visitor processing.
  • Manage post orders, direct individuals and close off areas as needed; assist law enforcement as required.
  • Other duties not listed; may include additional supervisory tasks.

Perform supervisory tasks related to scheduling, audits and reporting, and other supervisory duties not specified.Stand post at the entry/exit points to verify all persons' identification and conduct inquiries and surveillance of suspicious items, packages, and people.Ensure individuals do not depart with government material unless they are authorized to do so.Verbally challenge individuals who are approaching restricted areas.Direct individuals who cause a disturbance to leave the property.Operate traffic control points.Close off areas to traffic, establish perimeters, and set up barricades to secure incident scenes or facilities.Control access to incident scenes.Help ensure integrity of a crime scene, maintaining it in its original condition until law enforcement personnel take over.Coordinate the receipt, issuance, and tracking of all keys, key cards, lock combinations, vehicle passes/decals, etc.Identify suspicious persons or vehiclesInspect packages, briefcases, containers, or any other items in the possession of people entering or leaving a federally controlled facility.Operate metal detectors to search visitors for prohibited items.Operate x-ray machine to search deliveries and visitors' packages, equipment, and hand carried articles for prohibited items.Conduct vehicle inspection, which may include inspecting under seats, in the trunk, and under the vehicle.Conduct frisks or pat downs for weapons or other unauthorized items.Verify proper identification of visitors required for issuance of visitor badges.Process visitors.Other duties not listed.Must have two or more (2+) years of armed security experience or one (1) year of law enforcement experience in a full duty status with full-service police department; or a minimum if two (2) years of honorable service as a member of any US Armed Forces.received at a minimum, either a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma from an accredited institution of higher learning.Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.Must be 21 years of age or oldermust be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and physical.Be a United States Citizen; or Permanent Resident.
