Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Radiology Supervisor to lead the radiology team, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety. You will liaise with physicians, manage scheduling, and supervise staff to meet regulatory standards.

The role requires strong leadership, familiarity with EMR/PACS, and the ability to coordinate with multiple departments. A minimum of 3 years as a radiology technologist is expected, with CPR certification and ongoing CEU maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal school of Radiologic technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a staff technologist.
  • Must be able to perform CPR.
  • Maintains CEU Credits.
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • CT technologist experience preferred.
  • State licensure if applicable.
  • American Registry certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and oversees all Radiology procedures to the highest diagnostic quality, accuracy and ensures patient safety.
  • Collaborate with modality leadership to ensure adequate staff training to maintain the highest quality diagnostic images.
  • Assures proper operating performance of all equipment.
  • Responsible for all regulatory compliance including, but not limited to ACR, Joint Commission, NJDEP, DOH etc....
  • Promotes, communicates and acts as a liaison with nursing services, clinical areas and physicians to obtain pertinent clinical information of Radiology patients.
  • Ensures the availability of necessary supplies to maintain efficient department functionality.
  • Performs procedures according to departmental format and completes exam in allotted time.
  • Performs daily clerical duties, EMR, PACS, Teletracking, scheduling, etc.
  • Prepares payroll, staff schedules, on-call coverage sheets, and overtime approval forms.
  • Evaluates and recommends equipment, including capital equipment.
  • Assists with talent selection and onboarding.
  • Schedules monthly departmental meetings and in-services.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including weekends & holidays.
  • Greets patients using A.I.D.E.T. standards.
  • Assists in preparation of budget.
  • Manages team members to HR policies and conduct standards.
  • Identifies patient population needs and adapts care accordingly.
  • Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

The incumbent Radiology Supervisor serves as the liaison between the facility and referring sources, such as physicians' offices, organizations and managed care representatives for all scheduling, pre- authorization and communicating needs. Acts as the communication link to assist in resolution of issues and perceived problems that may affect referring Physicians and customers. Provides input to management and assists with the development of long and short-term marketing goals and objectives. Will be responsible for accurately reporting volume statistics and office visit information. Acts as the department safety liaison to the PI and safety committees and helps with network initiatives pertaining imaging services.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Supervisor, Radiology at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Performs procedures according to departmental format and completes exam in allotted time. Ensure images have proper patient identification.
  • Performs daily clerical duties, which includes the use of EMR, PACS, Teletracking System, computer systems, patient scheduling, or any other updated program added by the hospital.
  • Prepares payroll, staff schedules, on-call coverage sheets, and overtime approval forms.
  • Evaluates and recommends equipment, including capital equipment.
  • Assists with talent selection and onboarding.
  • Schedules monthly departmental meetings and monthly departmental in-services and outside companies.
  • Flexibility in work schedule (including weekends & holidays) as needed to provide continual quality patient care and department needs.
  • Greets patients when they arrive for their exam utilizing A.I.D.E.T. standards.
  • Assists in preparation of budget.
  • Manages team members to the policies such as Employee ID, Standards of Behavior and Conduct, Absenteeism and Lateness.
  • Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
  • Adheres to the standards identified in the Networks HR Organizational & Managerial Competencies.
  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Completion of a formal school of Radiologic technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a staff technologist.
  • Must be able to perform CPR.
  • Maintains CEU Credits.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
  • Associates Degree.
  • CT technologist experience.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Tech or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
  • State licensure if applicable.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
Contacts:
  • Regular contact with Medical Center personnel, patients, and visitors.
Working Conditions:
  • Lifts a minimum of 25 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 50 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
Starting Minimum Rate

Minimum rate of $113,609.60 Annually
