Job summary

Chromalloy Gas Turbine, LLC is seeking an NDT Level 3 - Supervisor to lead NDT activities in our Tampa facility. You will supervise Level 1/2 personnel, interpret results to applicable codes, and ensure quality and safety across inspections.

You must hold NAS-410 Level III in FPI/RI or equivalent, with strong leadership, blue­print interpretation, and communication skills. Willingness to work varied shifts is expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 4 years' Level 2 experience in RI/FPI/UT.
  • Associate's degree in engineering or science with 2 years RI/FPI/UT experience or Technical bachelor’s with 1 year RI/FPI/UT experience.
  • NAS-410 Level III certification in FPI and RI is required or highly desirable; additional certifications advised.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain NDT applications in Castings and suppliers.
  • Interpret results per codes, standards and specs.
  • Train and supervise Level 1 and 2 personnel in inspection techniques.
  • Maintain NDT personnel records and ensure safety and quality.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Set up and maintain a nondestructive testing (NDT) application within Castings and its suppliers. Interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications. Train, guide, and supervise NDT Trainees, Level 1, and Level 2 personnel on applicable inspection techniques. Maintain all NDT personnel records for the department.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma and four (4) years' experience in Level 2 for Radiography Inspection (RI) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and ultrasonic testing (UT).

Associate's degree (two years of engineering or science study in a university, college, or technical school), and two (2) years experience in Level 2 for Radiographic Inspection (RI) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and ultrasonic testing (UT) or Technical bachelor's degree (four years of engineering or science study in a university, college, or technical school) and one (1) year experience in level 2 for Radiographic Inspection (RI) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and ultrasonic testing (UT).

The specific LICENSES and/or CERTIFICATIONS required for this position are:

Level III certification in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection and Radiographic Inspection meeting the requirements of NAS-410 or equivalent. Certification in X-Ray, Penetrant Testing, ultrasonic testing (UT), Thermal Wave, and Computed Tomography is highly desirable. Vision Certification per NAS-410. American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) Certification is highly desirable.

The specific SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE required for this position are:

Ability to interpret applicable blueprints, specifications, codes, as well as work in-process documents. Good verbal and written communication skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Evaluate and recommend new technology to improve efficiency and throughput in NDT
  • Utilize the scope and limitations of the methods for Liquid Penetrant/Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Radiography Inspection (RI), ultrasonic testing (UT), and other techniques necessary such as Thermal Wave and Neutron Radiographic Inspection
  • Interpretation of results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications
  • Establishing techniques required for NDT Inspection
  • Interpreting specifications and procedures
  • Designating the inspection and techniques to be used
  • Training and guidance of Level 1 and 2 personnel
  • Performing duties of NDT Level 1 and Level 2 as needed
  • Ensuring that proper calibration procedures are followed, and equipment is maintained in a safe and effective working condition
  • Commitment to quality assurance
  • Ensuring on time delivery of product
  • Maintaining and updating production matrices
  • Allocate human resources as needed to advance production.
  • Maintain production standards/quality
  • Regular attendance and punctuality

The marginal duties and responsibilities (performed occasionally or at irregular intervals) for this position are:

Performing other tasks in the facility, as needed.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
