Job summary

US Foods in Birmingham, AL seeks a Warehouse Supervisor to lead Inventory Associates and drive efficient product flow. You will assign work, oversee FIFO meat rotation, and partner with Buyers to meet production needs.

You will collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, and QA to ensure HACCP/OSHA compliance while maintaining cold-chain integrity in refrigerated environments.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; some college preferred.
• 2 years of experience managing hourly workforce.
• 2 years of food production and inventory experience (meat, poultry or seafood).

Responsibilities

• Assigns work in the Warehouse for same-day or future orders and optimizes product flow.
• Ensure FIFO meat rotation from Cooler/Freezer for all species.
• Collaborate with Buyers to meet production and inventory needs; set up 2nd shift as needed.
• Coordinate with Sales/Purchasing to plan future production and inventory.
• Adhere to HACCP, OSHA, USDA standards with Food Safety & Quality Assurance.
• Perform other duties; work in refrigerated 35F-45F and freezer -10F to 10F.

Hours and Days: Monday - Friday 6 Am - 3 PM

Responsibilities

• Assigns work in the Warehouse for same-day or future orders, ensures raw material is prepped and available for swift and timely completion and product flow through packaging is maximized.
• Ensures first in first out meat rotation from the Cooler and Freezer for all species.
• Works with Buyers to ensure adequate inventory to meet production needs and helps forecast future needs. "Sets up" 2nd shift, if applicable, for seamless shift transition according to known daily customer requirements through close communication with 2nd shift Supervisor.
• Work with Sales and Purchasing to plan future order production and inventory requirements.
• Work with Food Safety & Quality Assurance to maintain good manufacturing practices, meet HACCP and OSHA requirements and maintain all USDA standards.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Must be able to work continually in a refrigerated environment 35°F- 45°F. Must be able to work for periods of time in a freezer environment -10°F to +10°F

SUPERVISION

• The incumbent is required to provide direct supervision for Warehouse Production and Inventory Associates

Qualifications

• Education/Training: HS Diploma required, some college desired

Related Experience:

• 2 years of experience managing/leading an hourly workforce required
• 2 years of food production and inventory experience (meat, poultry or seafood) required

• Strong understanding of financial reports and cutting yield mathematics. Willingness and desire to perform above industry standards to achieve and exceed expected results.
• Experience supervising a team of protein production warehouse and inventory associates.
• Strong skills in process improvement.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications required.

This role will also receive an annual incentive plan bonus.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $50,000 - $85,000.
