Job summary

POSITION SUMMARY

Supervise production employees in major and minor production projects.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• To direct and coordinate the operations necessary to process grids and plates for batteries at minimum cost, of specified quality, and according to production schedules.
• To satisfy all reliability and quality standards in the most economical manner.
• To develop, train and motivate hourly employees to acquire maximum efficiency, productivity, and cooperation and moral using Key Values.

SUPERVISION

Direct supervisor responsibility for production employees assigned to that department.

ACCOUNTABILITY

• Decisions made or actions taken on own authority: Provides instructions, guidance, and direction to assist hourly work force having assembly difficulties and procedural problems.
• Coordinates and participates in general administrative and technical programs such as cost reduction, methods, communications, safety and housekeeping, and employee training.
• Anticipates production problems such as potential delays, material shortages, equipment repair and the like.
• Devises and implements procedures to prevent or minimize loss of man hours and scheduled interruptions.
• Decisions/actions that require support of associates or higher approval: Ensures proper disposition of rework and scrap through repair of such items or documentation material that is scrapped.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, skills, knowledge, experience, etc.)

• Minimum high school graduate
• Minimum three years' work experience in supervisory experience
• Written and oral communication skills
• Ability to enter data on computer
• Supervision experience

WORKING CONDITIONS

Performance of responsibilities occurs in a manufacturing office environment and requires the use of standard business and office equipment. Must be able to stand or sit for an extended period of time, and to climb a flight of stairs several times a day. Some travel is required in this position.
