Job summary

Tyson Foods in Tecumseh, NE seeks a Production Supervisor to maintain high production, quality and yield standards while upholding safety and animal welfare.

You will oversee line staffing, review daily production orders, monitor equipment, ensure USDA compliance, coach team members, and coordinate with other supervisors to resolve issues on the 2nd shift.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Review daily production orders to ensure customer fulfillment.
  • Ensure all production positions are staffed prior to line startup.
  • Oversee team member warm-up, ergonomics, and rotation practices.
  • Monitor equipment performance for optimal operation.
  • Ensure workstations pass USDA inspection requirements.
  • Promote safety through daily practices and monthly meetings.
  • Maintain lot control and product coding procedures.
  • Ensure accurate shipments and inventory rotation.
  • Comply with animal welfare, food safety, quality, and company standards.
  • Coach, train, and retain Team Members; support employee relations.

Job Details: Job Description Production Supervisor – Job Summary Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining high production, quality, and yield standards while ensuring the safest working environment possible and maintaining strict Animal Welfare standards.

This role requires a strong understanding and control of the production process, accurate recordkeeping, line oversight, staffing coordination, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities
  • Reviewing daily production orders to ensure customer fulfillment
  • Ensuring all production positions are staffed prior to line startup
  • Overseeing Team Member warm-up exercises and job rotation practices to support ergonomics
  • Monitoring equipment performance to ensure optimal operation
  • Ensuring all workstations pass USDA inspection requirements
  • Promoting safety daily and through monthly safety meetings
  • Maintaining proper lot control and product coding procedures
  • Ensuring accurate shipments and inventory rotation
  • Maintaining compliance with Animal Welfare, food safety, quality, and company standards
  • Communicating company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members
  • Coaching, training, counseling, and retaining Team Members
  • Supporting employee relations and team development
  • Overseeing processing operations and collaborating with other supervisors to resolve operational issues
  • Maintaining records regarding reworked or returned product
  • Providing ongoing education regarding quality standards and expectations
  • Performing additional duties as needed
Education

High school diploma preferred. Additional education beyond high school, including vocational training, technical certifications, or college coursework, is preferred.
