JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible for ensuring that the daily work for the department is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Supervises one or more of the following functions: picking or packing, within the department. Hires new team members, conducts performance reviews, recommends wage increases, monitors attendance, and responsible for early stages of conflict resolution. Tracks daily, weekly, and monthly hour usage and work completion levels to meet or exceed established budgets. Researches, identifies, and corrects issues that cause inefficiencies in productivity and accuracy. Responsible for maintaining a complete understanding of all functions and awareness of how the department impacts customers, both internal and external. As necessary, works with staff to complete departmental workload.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for ensuring that the daily work for the department is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Packing responsibility would include ensuring hazardous materials are properly packaged in appropriate plastic bags/boxes in appropriate position for shipping. Oversees that products are shipped appropriately by weight/gallon and other restrictions. Assure smooth operation in print room.
  • Supervises the Picking and or Packing department, hires new team members, conducts performance reviews, recommends increases, monitors attendance and responsible for early stages of conflict resolution.
  • Tracks daily, weekly, and monthly hour usage and work completing levels to meet or exceed established budgets. Researches, identifies, and corrects issues that cause inefficiencies in productivity and accuracy.
  • Tracks and prioritizes daily orders by division and ship code to ensure all are completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for maintaining a complete understanding of all functions, computer screens and reporting.
  • Maintains awareness and understanding of how the department impacts customers, both internal and external, and the department’s overall impact on the operation.
  • As necessary, works with staff to complete departmental workload. Monitors and troubleshoots conveyers, pick modules, and location accuracy to maintain consistent workflow.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

WORK EXPERIENCE and COMPENSATION

Typically 4 or more years of related support experience; 3 or more years of management experience. Typically two to three years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of applicable professional experience; 1 or more years of management experience. The posted range for this position is 65,767.00 - 98,650.00, which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including education, prior experience, training, current skills, certifications, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. At the time of this posting, this position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range subject to the achievement of the plan.

PREFERRED EDUCATION

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

SCOPE

Typically supervise overtime eligible staff on day-to-day activities to complete assignments using established procedures and policies within a section(s) of a department. Jobs are similar in nature and perform a single task or multiple but closely related tasks. Receive predetermined work assignments subject to a moderate level of control and review. Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives.

COMPLEXITY

Follow established practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Handle routine problems and elevate more complex problems. Focus on a single process or multiple tasks that are closely related to a single objective. Extensive knowledge about the position(s) being supervised.

STRATEGY

Focused on how to implement management’s decisions through the work of staff. Carry out policies and procedures passed down from management.

SUPERVISION

Provide immediate supervision to support level staff typically performing continuous routine activities and assign tasks, check work at frequent intervals and maintain schedules. Portion of time normally spent performing individual tasks related to the sub-unit.

INTERACTION

Interact daily with subordinate staff, customers and/or functional peer groups. Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.

MANAGEMENT DUTIES

Typically does not hire, terminate, or promote without Manager and/or Director approval, but may have input into the decision-making process. Decisions on salary increases, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc. are reviewed by more senior management

Typically, to advance to a new job level, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.
