Job description

Supervisor, Production

In this role, the Production Supervisor will oversee and coordinate all activities of the assigned team to include managing the personnel, daily metrics, and improving safety, quality, cost and delivery throughout operations. The position reports directly to the Value Stream Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily orders for the assigned region by planning the purchasing, machining or assembly of products.
• Coordinate with Customer Care, Procurement, Production, Quality and Outside Processing to meet On Time Delivery and Inventory Availability objectives.
• Deliver orders to the production floor and expand to other departments as needed.
• Assist floor personnel with order fulfillment issues or questions.
• Work with various departments to drive cost‑cutting initiatives and lead‑time opportunities.
• Facilitate feedback and communication with internal departments, service centers and rep agencies.
• Use reports to track inventory and order volume and proactively respond to order requirements.
• Develop annual objectives aligned with departmental and company goals.
• Report on all metrics and KPIs associated with the planning department.
• Develop action plans, standard work and countermeasures to support metrics and KPIs.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring new staff; prioritize, assign and review work; approve time off; prepare performance evaluations.

Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or 3–5 years of equivalent experience.
• Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects with little or no supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong people skills and ability to maintain internal and external relationships.
• Proficient with MS Office applications and MRP systems.
• Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience (preferred).
