Job summary

Igloo Products Corp in Texas is seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to lead shift activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will oversee assembly/molding lines, enforce safety and quality standards, and coordinate resources to meet production goals.

As a key member of the management team, you will partner with maintenance, quality, and supply chain to optimize line performance, conduct audits, and train staff in 5S and lean practices. Strong leadership required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three years' production experience in assembly/molding.
  • Minimum of three years' supervision experience.
  • Able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate production shift activities and safety initiatives.
  • Review and sign DJRs for lines at shift start and changeovers.
  • Perform random quality checks to ensure product quality.
  • Develop cross-training plans and manage line assignments.
  • Keep payroll data updated and timecards approved.
  • Navigate Oracle and OBIEE to verify WIP and scheduling.

This role , you will be involved inbeing responsibleforsupervising and coordinating production shift activities and safety initiatives in a continuous fast paced, quality conscious, high-speed manufacturing operation; performing as a key member of a management team committed to World-Class Performance and department goals.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all employees, both new and current, feel welcomed and are treated with respect as well as providing them with clear instructions/training along with the correct tools and PPErequired.
  • Ensure safe working practices arefollowedand all accidents, hazards, near misses, and property damage are reported in the required time.Ensure that Safety and Quality requirementsare in compliance.
  • Supervisor is responsibleto reviewandsignDJRs for every assembly line under their responsibility at the beginning of the shift as well as every change over.
  • Supervisor is responsibleofauditing at the beginning of the shift as well as at least 3 times during theday the following,
  • Foam Parameters
  • Hourly Production Board
  • 5 minutes Safety/Quality meeting
  • Line/ machineClearance report
  • Scrap levels.
  • Supervisor is responsibletocreatethe line assignment/ machineassigmentfor Igloo and Temporary associatesrequiredto support the assembly lines/ machinesscheduled. Temporary Agencyrequestwork orders for associates, areto besubmittedby 2pm on Day shift and 9pm on Night shift.
  • The Supervisor is also responsible for making random quality checks during their shift on every line/machineunder their responsibility to ensure all product being processedisin compliancewithQuality Standards.
  • Performing the Safety Monthly training is also under the responsibility of the Supervisor.
  • A Cross Training Programis required tobe developed and executed for apositionrotation plan.
  • The Supervisor is responsibleto keep payrollsystem updated at alltimesand timecards must be approved by the end of the last day of their shift.
  • Supervisoris required tonavigate in both Oracle and OBIEE systems, to verify WIP inventories and/or schedulingrequirements.
  • Perform duties to support the Manager as needed.
  • Utilize properly the assignedmanpower, material,equipmentand space to perform in a profitable and efficient manner by coordinating all activities within the scope of approved procedures and sets priorities necessary toaccomplishpre-determined goals.
  • Identifiesand resolves manufacturing problemsin order todeliver production efficiency,attainmentand scrap control results.
  • Monitors equipment, methods of operation and coordinates equipment repairsin order toreduce spoilage (scrap) and ensure established quantity and quality of output is met.
  • Help implement and maintain 5S practices in all areas of the plant.
  • Ensure safe working practices arefollowedand all accidents, hazards, near misses and property damage are reportedinthe required time.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety and hygiene standards.
  • Promote Safety, Quality, and Environmental Awareness by following the requirementsin the area ofresponsibility.
  • Ensure production activities are carried out within budgeted machine and labor hours.
  • Ensure all labor and machine timesheets are completed andsubmittedaccurately asrequired.
  • Mustmaintainaccuratepersonnel data: attendance, counseling,performanceand other, to provideaccuratepayroll data to proper personnel.
  • The Supervisor will ensure the transfer of knowledge and/or issues between shifts, to the relieving Supervisor.
  • All Igloo policies and procedures are enforced fairly and equally.
  • Assembly Supervisor must be willing to be cross trained to fill in for Molding Supervisor position as needed.

MinimumRequirements and Qualifications

A suitable background would be a solid experience withinthefollowing qualifications and experiences:

  • Education: High school diploma orequivalency.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of Production experience in assembly/moldingrepetitive manufacturing.
  • Supervisory Experience: Minimum of three (3)yearssupervisory experience.
  • English language skills: Able to read, write,speakandcomprehendEnglish.
  • Math skills: Able to add, subtract,multiplyand divide.
  • Physical Demands: Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. multiple times a day during a12 hr.shift; Bend and stand in difficult positions up to 12 hours; Able to manipulate tools with both hands and stand for long hours; Able to walk quickly and climb stairs; Walk approximate distance between 3-4 miles per day.
  • Work environment: Warehouse environment hot and humid in summer months, cold in winter months. High noise requiringuse of hearingprotection.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Ability to leadothersincluding people from diverse backgrounds.
To be successful in this role, we believe that youpossessthe following skills, competencies & characteristics:
  • Injection Mold or Blow Mold Process experience.
  • Experience and familiarity with ISO 9000:2000 Standards.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing.

Physical Demands & Conditions (Applicable to Igloo Operators, Technicians, Leaders, and Other Roles in Manufacturing)

Standing & Walking Roles may involve extended periods (up to 12 hours) of standing and walking, including moving at a brisk pace and occasional stair climbing.

Postural Requirements Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in low or awkward positions during production or maintenance tasks.

  • Operator-level roles may involvelifting upto 25lbrepeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Technician-level roles may involvelifting upto 50lbmultiple times per day, including overhead lifts.
  • Where possible, mechanical aids (e.g., hoists, forklifts) are used.

Fine Motor Skills & Tool Use Use of both handsis required tooperatetools, perform adjustments, and handle assembly materials with precision.

Visual Requirements Sufficient visual acuity (e.g., 20/40 with or without correction) is necessary for tasks involving inspection and safe equipment operation.

Environmental Conditions
  • Work is performed in a production setting where seasonal temperatures may range from 100–120°F (with humidity) in summer to cooler conditions in winter.
  • High noise levels are common; hearing protection is provided andrequired.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, gloves, and protective clothing may be required depending on the task.

Additional Job Considerations These roles can be physically demanding, involving repetitive motions and long hours. Technicians maybe requiredto handle heavy molds and materials; use of material handling equipment is provided and encouraged.
