Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Supervisor, Production to lead the Holland, MI plant shift. You will oversee safety, quality, delivery and throughput, coaching teams to resolve issues and advance their skills.

Strong emphasis on discipline, attendance and incident investigation supports continuous improvement. The role requires 3+ years in supervision, automotive manufacturing exposure, and a high school diploma or higher.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
• Automotive manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Must be physically capable of performing essential functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage processes with detailed accuracy, and discipline.
• Coaches and assist all employees with problem solving, and personal issues.
• Train team members on various processes, procedures and job tasks within their work zone.
• Certify team members on individual workstations to satisfy each level of progression on the skills matrix.
• Ensure quality standards are met and on-time delivery per customer demands.
• Monitor safety, housekeeping, quality, and operator instructions; attend to employee well‑being.
• Incident reporting and investigation of root causes for injuries and incidents.
• Monitor attendance and apply disciplinary actions per the employee handbook.
• Oversee production quality and throughput; update hour-by-hour boards and zone boards.
• Collaborate with support groups to restore processes to standard after abnormal conditions.
• Direct team leaders, material handlers, operators, and support groups daily.
• Conduct toolbox talks daily covering required categories on the check sheet.
• Ensure production identification, traceability, containment of nonconforming material, inventory movements and reporting.
