Job summary

Terex Corporation is seeking a Production Supervisor for straight truck assembly. You will lead assemblers, oversee daily operations, safety, quality and continuous improvement to meet production goals.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Maintenance to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to processes. Strong leadership and communication skills are required along with a bachelor's degree and manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience, with leadership in an assembly or production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, BOMs and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and production scheduling.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Clean driving record and flexibility to meet changing business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and coordinate daily work activities to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor workflow, productivity, staffing levels, and resource utilization for efficient performance.
  • Ensure assemblies meet engineering drawings, work instructions, quality standards and processes.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and address defects and process issues.
  • Promote OSHA compliance and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Provide coaching, training, and day-to-day support to the assembly team.
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, staffing, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Materials, Maintenance and others to resolve challenges.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding and performance management activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement focused on safety, quality, productivity, delivery and cost.
  • Monitor metrics and implement corrective actions to meet goals.
  • Encourage teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, shop floor walks and problem-solving.

Production Supervisor - Straight Truck Assembly

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of assemblers involved in the production of straight truck bodies and related vehicle components. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role oversees daily operations, staffing, safety, quality, training, and continuous improvement activities to ensure production goals and customer requirements are met.


The supervisor partners with Engineering, Quality, Materials, Maintenance, Safety, and other departments to drive operational excellence and on-time delivery.


Responsibilities


  • Assign and coordinate daily work activities to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.

  • Monitor workflow, productivity, staffing levels, and resource utilization to ensure efficient department performance.

  • Ensure assemblies are completed according to engineering drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and established manufacturing processes.

  • Conduct regular quality checks and address defects, nonconformances, and process issues to maintain product quality.

  • Promote and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies while maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Provide coaching, training, performance feedback, and day-to-day support to assembly team members.

  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, staffing, and employee accountability.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Materials, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve production challenges and support continuous workflow.

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management activities.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost reduction.

  • Monitor departmental metrics and implement corrective actions to achieve operational goals.

  • Encourage employee engagement and foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Participate in daily production meetings, shop floor walks, and problem-solving activities to address operational issues and improve performance.


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience, including leadership responsibilities in an assembly or production environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and production scheduling.

  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Clean driving record.

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in truck body, vehicle, trailer, RV, heavy equipment, or similar manufacturing environments.

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement experience.

  • Experience supporting new product introductions and cross-functional improvement initiatives
