Job summary

Spartan Emergency Response is seeking a Production Supervisor – Straight Truck Assembly to lead a team of assemblers producing straight truck bodies and related components. You will report to the Production Manager and oversee daily operations, staffing, safety, quality, and continuous improvement to meet production goals and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience, including leadership responsibilities in an assembly or production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and production scheduling.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and coordinate daily work activities to meet production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Monitor workflow, productivity, staffing levels, and resource utilization to ensure efficient department performance.
  • Ensure assemblies are completed according to engineering drawings, work instructions, quality standards, and established manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and address defects, nonconformances, and process issues to maintain product quality.
  • Promote and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies while maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Provide coaching, training, performance feedback, and day-to-day support to assembly team members.
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, staffing, and employee accountability.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Materials, Maintenance, and other departments to resolve production challenges and support continuous workflow.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, employee development, and performance management activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and cost reduction.
  • Monitor departmental metrics and implement corrective actions to achieve operational goals.
  • Encourage employee engagement and foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, shop floor walks, and problem-solving activities to address operational issues and improve performance.

Production Supervisor – Straight Truck Assembly

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of assemblers involved in the production of straight truck bodies and related vehicle components. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role oversees daily operations, staffing, safety, quality, training, and continuous improvement activities to ensure production goals and customer requirements are met.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in truck body, vehicle, trailer, RV, heavy equipment, or similar manufacturing environments.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions and cross-functional improvement initiatives
