- Supervises and directs assigned Police and Security personnel, evaluates employee performance, interviews applicants, makes recommendations to supervisor regarding hiring, firing, promotions, and disciplinary actions, coordinates with Human Resources, as required, verifies payroll time sheets, approves requests for leisure and other time off.
- Prepares work schedules.
- Prepares weekly, monthly and annual security reports.
- Operates security technology equipment including; personal computers, CCTV systems, fire alarm system, access control systems, security alarm systems, and radios.
- Respond to acts of violence at Geisinger owned or controlled properties and potentially engage in the use of force as governed by Pennsylvania Law and Geisinger policy.
- Carry, properly handle, maintain proficiency, and be able to deploy lethal and less lethal weapons as prescribed by federal/state law, and Geisinger policy.
- Tasked with the ability to effect arrests for certain criminal offenses, and issue PA state citations for certain criminal and traffic offenses and using specific law enforcement applications such as the PA Justice Network.
- Perform as a Geisinger Security Officer when necessary.
- Handle and manage evidence pertaining to criminal incidents occurring in/on Geisinger owned properties.
Responds to emergencies, fire alarms, hazardous material incidents. Deals with conflict, confrontation, and stressful situations on a routine basis. Performs both foot patrol and vehicle patrol of facilities and grounds. Must be physically able to provide the essential services of the position. - Experience: 2 years’ experience in law enforcement
- Act 120 Training or equivalent (PA State Police Academy, out of state law enforcement academy, Federal Law enforcement academy).
- Act 235 certification ( prerequisite).
