Job summary

St. Clair Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor responsible for overseeing pharmacy staff who prepare and dispense medications and intravenous solutions. You will maintain knowledge of departmental systems and implement improvements to promote efficient use of resources.

The role ensures safe, timely, accurate, patient-oriented drug therapy and collaborates with the Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Manager, and leadership to ensure compliance with laws and standards.

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania license as a Pharmacist or eligible if licensed in another state; PA license required within 6 months of hire.
• Two years of hospital pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises activities of pharmacy personnel engaged in preparing and dispensing medications and IV solutions.
• Maintains knowledge of departmental systems and procedures; develops and evaluates systems to promote efficient resource use.
• Ensures patient-oriented drug therapy is safe, timely, accurate and effective; collaborates with leadership to ensure compliance with laws and standards.

Ensures provision of patient-oriented drug therapy in a safe, timely, accurate, and effective manner. Works with Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Manager and leadership team to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards of practice.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Current Pennsylvania license as a Pharmacist or eligibility required if licensed in another state, Pennsylvania license required within 6 months of hire.
2. Two years of hospital pharmacy experience.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Completion of an advanced degree in pharmacy or business administration.
2. Personal computer skills and knowledge of hospital information systems.
3. Previous leadership experience.
4. Previous continuous quality improvement.
5. Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
