Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Supervisor to oversee multiple Patient Care Center operations and phlebotomy staff across Northern New Mexico. You will manage staffing, training, and performance, while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong customer service.

The role requires a clinical lab background, phlebotomy experience, and travel between PCC sites, with a Monday–Friday 8:00–17:00 schedule and flexibility for additional hours as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience, including phlebotomy.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience, e.g., Department Trainer.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Schedule: Mon-Fri, 0800–1700, with additional hours as needed to meet patient care needs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the general operation of multiple Patient Care Center and Phlebotomists in Office locations across Northern New Mexico.
  • Coordinate activities with organizational areas and internal and external customers to ensure quality standards.
  • Oversee staffing, interviewing, selection, scheduling, timecard approval, PTO approvals, performance evaluations, counseling, discipline, and recognition programs.
  • Monitor workflow, patient wait times, phlebotomy productivity, quality assurance indicators, productivity, error rates, and turnaround-time issues.
  • Establish, maintain, and document employee training and competency programs.
  • Ensure staff understand business office functions, billing, ABNs, AFRs, payment collection, and billing reports where applicable.
  • Assist staff with questions and problem solving; maintain site communication and conduct regular meetings.
  • Ensure policy and procedure compliance and develop procedures and special reports as needed.
  • Participate in quality assurance, process improvement, and quality programs.
  • Develop and implement work systems and identify improved services.
  • Resolve patient, client, and provider concerns and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain inventory and oversee supply ordering and monitoring.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and teamwork.
  • Travel to Patient Care Center and PIO sites as needed.
  • Ensure daily operation logs and batch cleaning are completed.
  • Monitor safety, accuracy, productivity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Keep the Manager informed of quality, productivity, TAT, and personnel issues.
  • Assist HR with onboarding new hires at remote PCC locations.
  • Perform and oversee CLIA-waived testing and reagent quality control where applicable.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Five (5) years relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting, including phlebotomy experience
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience, such as Department Trainer
  • Experience in specimen processing and/or phlebotomy preferred
  • Travel required
  • Scheduled availability Monday-Friday, 0800-1700, with additional hours as needed to meet patient care needs
