Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System (Indiana) seeks a Patient Access Supervisor to oversee 24-hour daily operations, coordinating staff across all points of Patient Access. You will ensure compliant encounters and accurate patient registration, while facilitating pre-certifications and authorizations for all patients.

The role requires 2–3 years in Pre-service or Patient Access with supervisory responsibilities and national HFMA/NAHAM certifications within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Two to three (2–3) years experience working in a Pre-service or Patient Access operations with supervisory responsibilities.
• Certifications: Obtain HFMA CRCR, NAHAM CHAA & / or NAHAM CHAM within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the 24-hour, daily operations of Patient Access at Saint Joseph Health System (SJHS) including coordinating and monitoring staff services at all points of Patient Access. Ensures encounters are in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, organizational policies and procedures. Ensures accurate billing and demographic information are obtained to effectively register all patients entering SJHS. Ensures third party benefit verification, prior authorizations are obtained, valid physician orders are obtained and facilitates obtaining pre-certification for all patients. Mentors less seasoned colleagues to ensure adequate staffing at all times in Patient Registration.
