Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Supervisor, Parts in Jacksonville to lead stocking and distribution of tractor and trailer parts. Monday–Friday 7am–5pm, with no remote work option, and a pay range of 48,800–61,000.

The role includes supervising staff, maintaining inventory records, and coordinating with maintenance and service teams. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in supervision or procurement, strong communication and analytical skills, and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in supervision, inventory, purchasing, or procurement.
  • Experience in the transportation industry a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the stocking and distribution of a large volume and variety of tractor and trailer parts.
  • Monitors and evaluates the status of shop inventory, maintaining perpetual inventory records.
  • Establishes minimum and maximum inventory levels in accordance with company requirements.
  • Supervises all parts personnel and inventory.
  • Supervises stocking, recording, and distribution of replacement parts for tractors/trailers.
  • Coordinates parts and supplies purchases with Shop Supervisors, Maintenance Manager, and Service Coordinator.
  • Develops and prepares audits, status reports, and part reports analyses.
  • Arranges for pickup and delivery of parts to/from local vendors.
  • Adds stock items and removes obsolete parts.
  • Determines shipping methods for parts to the department; expedites urgent items.
  • Inventories parts, supplies, tools, and service manuals.
  • Implements process improvements to reduce turnaround times and improve service quality.
  • Schedules personnel and handles all personnel-related issues for the department.
  • Trains parts personnel on parts and warranties.
  • Manages all purchase orders and invoices for items in the parts department.
  • Ensures proper entry of all parts-related paperwork.
  • Follows purchasing guidelines.

What You’ll Do:

Supervises the stocking and distribution of a large volume and variety of tractor and trailer parts. Monitors and evaluates the status of shop inventory, maintaining a perpetual inventory records system. Establishes minimum and maximum inventory levels in accordance with company requirements.

  • Supervises all parts personnel and inventory.
  • Supervises the stocking, recording, and distribution of a large volume of replacement parts for tractors/trailers.
  • Interacts with Shop Supervisors, Maintenance Manager, and Service Coordinator in coordinating parts and supplies purchased for the repair shop.
  • Develops and prepares written and oral audits, status reports, and part reports analyses.
  • Arranges for the pick-up and delivery of parts to and from the local vendors.
  • Provides for the addition of stock items and removal of obsolete parts.
  • Determines the proper method of shipping parts into the parts department (e.g. ground, air, or any other specified method based on information as to the status of the specific vehicle); expedites delivery of critically needed items.
  • Inventories parts, supplies, tools, and service manuals.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Schedules personnel and all personnel-related issues for this department. Conducts training of all parts personnel related to parts and parts warranty.
  • Manages all purchase orders and invoices for purchased items within the parts department.
  • Ensures the proper entry of all parts-related paperwork.
  • Follows purchasing guidelines as set forth by Corporate Maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
