Description

Cyclone Bagels is a brand-new Bagel shop located in Coney Island with the aspiration of employing and supporting our local (“veteran”) community and workforce. Cyclone Bagels is committed to creating artisanal, consistent, high-quality Bagels for same day production’s inventory.

Cyclone Bagels is looking for a part time supervisor who will be responsible for making sure that the shop is set up for success every day. The Supervisor oversees every aspect of service, food quality, service standards and guest relations. The responsibilities also include doing inventories, assisting the staff when needed, and embracing a positive work environment.

Location: Coney Island

Schedule: Part Time, 23 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $22/hr.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • 10% Administrative Duties/In Office and 90% Oversight of Cafe Service/present on Cafe Floor
  • Open and/or close the shop
  • Be knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu, bagel making and baking process
  • Maintain POS system with all the updates (number of items, shortages, 86’s items, etc.)
  • Daily walk through to inspect shop and report any issues to manager
  • Supervise that all side work is completed before, during and after each staff member’s shift
  • Greet guests entering and leaving the shop
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area and dining areas (indoor and outdoor)
  • Ensure all displays are always full, tidy and with the correct signage
  • Accurately process all cash and credit payments along with cash report and deposits
  • Weekly safe audit with Director of Food Operations
  • Ensure all FOH and BOH equipment is cleaned and maintained
  • Be physically present in the café during service to ensure service standards are met
  • Guide, direct and train FOH staff to have comprehensive knowledge of the menu and service standards
  • Observe the flow of service, providing assistance when necessary. Be aware of any bottlenecks or overwhelmed service areas and assist in real time
  • React to any problems that occur, taking action that shows the guests we care
  • Be aware of any guests with disabilities and make sure that all their needs are met
  • Make sure that all needed supplies are on the floor at all times
  • Maintain a healthy, happy and productive work environment for employees to foster loyalty and dedication

Position Requirements

  • Professional with 2+ years of experience in management in a similar position and previous experience managing at least 4 employees
  • Be familiar with a POS system; we use Toast
  • Be familiar with Cash handling procedures (open/close registers)
  • Able to multitask efficiently
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to remain standing for the entire length of shift.
  • Competent to work on a computer with email and Office Programs
  • Reliable leader to help and inspire others to achieve their best.
