Ryder System, Inc. in Inwood, West Virginia is seeking a Supervisor - Packaging/Production for our Supply Chain Solutions division. This exempt role pays $65,000 per year and follows a Friday–Sunday schedule from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

The supervisor leads a shift, ensuring safe, efficient operations and meeting customer expectations. You will coach teams, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with leadership to achieve KPI targets.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED is required.
• 0 to 1 year of direct supervisory/leadership experience.
• 1 year or more experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and oversee day-to-day logistics operations.
• Plan and review logistics processes with the Logistics Manager to meet standards and customer specs.
• Establish work schedules and procedures; coordinate activities to ensure optimal shift/team logistics.
• Accountable for site KPI performance; collaborate with the customer on all operational aspects.
• Conduct regular progress meetings with the team, coach, and recognize achievements; drive improvements.

Summary

Supervisors are responsible for leading their shift or assigned area of the operation, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations. They coach, train, develop, and support their teams while driving engagement and accountability. In addition, they play a critical role in continuous improvement efforts, operational excellence, and achieving key customer performance metrics.

Essential Functions

• Supervise, coordinate and oversee day to day logistics operations;
• Plan and review, in collaboration with the Logistics Manager, all logistics processes, ensuring that they meet the company standards and customer service specifications
• Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate activities of the workers to ensure optimal shift/team logistics
• Accountable for site Key Performance Indication (KPI) Working in collaboration with customer in all aspect of operations
• Meet regularly with team members collectively, as well as on an individual basis to monitor progress towards meeting objectives, track performance, coach and counsel as well as recognizing team and individual successes
• Cultivate team spirit with a Diversity and Inclusion initiative and promote cooperation by seeking opportunities to improve internal processes
• Carry out performance evaluations of the team members and recommend performance awards and/or merit increases when appropriate
• Address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary processResponsible for implementation of health & safety and security initiatives, practices and behaviors and adherence to company rules and policies
• Provide appropriate orientation for employees and Lead Hands and give them the information, technology and any material necessary to perform their jobs
