Role Purpose Statement

The Cold Food Operations Supervisor oversees the preparation, storage, and distribution of cold food items, ensuring compliance with company standards, customer specifications, and food safety regulations. Responsibilities include supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory, monitoring food safety protocols, and collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership, a deep understanding of food production, and a commitment to cleanliness and safety, ensuring the delivery of high-quality cold food products to our airline and hospitality clients.

Main Accountabilities
  1. Supervise the Cold Food Department and coordinate with other department leaders.
  2. Organize, staff, and direct the area to meet delivery deadlines.
  3. Conduct daily work group meetings.
  4. Maintain financial goals related to materials, productivity, overtime, and labor.
  5. Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations (FDA, USDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT, HACCP, etc.).
  6. Document and improve department processes.
  7. Perform other duties as necessary.
Leadership
  • Guide, motivate, and develop staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and coordinate with HR.
  • Manage productivity hours and costs; initiate corrective actions.
  • Support initiatives like Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, and Production systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in food production, catering, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of food handling and safety.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to manage 20+ employees.
  • Comfortable working with all employee levels and driving program changes.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback daily.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, FDA, USDA, and EPA regulations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills; ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
