Job summary

Guitar Center is seeking a warehouse supervisor to lead inbound/outbound operations and develop team leaders in a fast-paced distribution center environment.

The role requires coordinating workflow, training staff, and ensuring productivity and adherence to policies, with a focus on quality and timely completion of tasks. Major responsibilities include staffing, process standardization, and cross-functional collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or relevant work experience.
  • One to two years of related supervisory experience and/or training.
  • Prior experience working in a distribution environment is preferred.
  • Some experience with WMS is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Reviews and ensures all paperwork and daily assignments are completed in allotted time frame.
  • Maintains an appropriate staffing level within their area to accomplish the Distribution Centers goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS
  • Job requires occasional carrying, reaching, pulling, kneeling, bending, and pushing.
  • Continuous mental and/or visual attention; the work requires constant alertness in a warehouse environment.
  • Must be flexible to working overtime, which is sometimes mandatory.
EQUIPMENT USED
  • Standard warehouse machinery and equipment as well as personal protection equipment such as closed shoes, gloves (provided and recommended, but not required), black belts, and harnesses (provided – required depending on type of powered equipment).
  • Basic office equipment (computer, copier, printers).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Warehouse environment, subject to moderate temperature changes.
  • Hot conditions during summer months and cold conditions in the winter months.
  • Noise level varies and can be loud.
  • Work with and/or around moving mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Very fast‑paced environment.
  • Must be able to work outside in hot, cold, or wet conditions as required.
