Job summary

West is seeking a seasoned Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations of pharmaceutical stoppers on night shifts. You will ensure adherence to SOPs, safety, quality, and on-time delivery while optimizing costs and resources.

If you have 5+ years in manufacturing, supervisory experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills, you will lead teams, schedule production, and drive Lean Sigma initiatives.

Qualifications

• Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they relate to the position.
• Support Lean Sigma programs and activities toward target delivery.

Responsibilities

• Create short-interval look-ahead production schedules and ensure communication of upcoming events.

• Ensure SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practices are followed.
• Coach employees to improve performance and manage conduct and attendance.
• Manage resources to ensure on-time production and delivery of orders.
• Verify production data is accurately recorded and hours worked.
• Ensure smooth startup of new processes and ongoing production in all departments.
• Maximize capital resources and maintain equipment and facilities.
• Continuously improve processes through team-based projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with regulations.

Supervise production processes & personnel to produce pharmaceutical stoppers on assigned shifts. Responsible & accountable for adherence to procedures, proper production, quality, maintenance, safety & schedules on assigned shifts; promote effective team member/Company relations to help improve customer service & Company profits. Assigned shifts may include fixed &/or rotating shifts.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day production activities of plant products at the most economical cost consistent with prescribed quality standards in a timely manner. The incumbent is responsible for the cost performance of the assigned unit.
• Create short-interval look-ahead production schedules that make sure that upcoming events are communicated, tracked and are being proactively attended -to
• Promote all site initiatives including plant safety programs, lean initiatives, training programs, etc., and consistently interpret and apply all HR policies, practices and procedures among our plant personnel.
• Assure Standard Operating Instructions and Good Manufacturing Practices are adhered to.
• Participate in the resolution of employee complaints and personnel or performance issues and/or coach employees to encourage teamwork. Routinely evaluate and review employee performance. Perform counseling with employees in regard to job performance, attendance, etc.
• Manage available resources to insure on time production and delivery of customer orders.
• Verify production data is accurately recorded.
• Maintain and verify accuracy of the hours each employee has worked.
• Ensure the smooth startup of new processes and on-going production in all area departments.
• Maximize capital resources and assist in maintaining equipment and facilities in proper working condition.
• Constantly evaluate existing processes and establish teams to continuously improve these processes.
• Performs other duties, as assigned based on business needs.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
• Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance

Education

• Bachelor's Degree technical or business-related field preferred

Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment required
• Prior supervisory experience

License and Certifications

• Health Services\\First Aid Certification Upon Hire preferred or
• Health Services\\CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire preferred

Travel Requirements

10%: Up to 26 business days per year

Physical Requirements

Light-Exerting up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force frequently constantly to move objects.
