Job summary

Maersk Logistics & Services USA, Inc. is seeking a Supervisor, Operation to lead daily dispatch and ensure on-time service across routes and linehaul movements.

You will coordinate drivers, plan routes, and maintain strong customer communications while guiding a team of dispatch personnel and drivers. Responsibilities include monitoring progress, addressing disruptions, ensuring safety compliance, and driving continuous improvement across operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or Business preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of transportation, dispatch, or logistics experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch Operations: Manage daily dispatch activities for all delivery routes and linehaul movements.
  • Coordinate driver assignments, route planning, and equipment utilization.
  • Monitor delivery progress and proactively address service disruptions.
  • Ensure timely communication of pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Optimize routes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize service levels.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records and reporting.
  • Supervise and support dispatch personnel and drivers.
  • Conduct daily huddles and operational meetings.
  • Coach employees on performance expectations and company procedures.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and customer focus.
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational escalations.
  • Ensure customer commitments are met consistently.
  • Communicate service updates, delays, and resolution plans to customers.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and operational partners.
  • Promote compliance with all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
  • Monitor hours of service, driver qualifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate and document service failures, accidents, and operational incidents.
  • Participate in safety audits and corrective action programs.
  • Track and report KPIs including On-Time Delivery, Route Efficiency, Driver Productivity, Service Failures, Customer Satisfaction, Equipment Utilization.
  • Implement corrective actions to improve operational performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation.
  • Work closely with warehouse, transportation, customer service, and leadership teams.
  • Coordinate peak-season planning and special projects.
  • Assist with customer implementations, account launches, and operational transitions.

Position Summary

The Supervisor, Operation is responsible for leading and overseeing the daily dispatch operations for the Pilot Team. This role ensures efficient routing, scheduling, communication, and execution of deliveries while maintaining high levels of customer service, safety, productivity, and compliance. The Supervisor, Operation works closely with drivers, warehouse personnel, customers, and leadership to ensure on-time service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispatch Operations

  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with warehouse, transportation, customer service, and leadership teams.
    • Coordinate peak-season planning and special projects.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an office and warehouse environment. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use computer systems for extended periods. May require occasional after-hours, weekend, or on-call support.

Pay Range

$75,000 - $85,000 *The above-stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
