Job summary

TAS Environmental Services in Channelview, TX is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead emergency response activities at the assigned location. The role requires CDL Class B Hazmat endorsement, HAZWOPER, and chemical handling knowledge.

You will mentor staff, coordinate tank cleanings, cleanups, and remediation projects on field sites. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills and can interface with customers and officials while ensuring safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Five+ years performing all aspects of Emergency Spill Response.
• Knowledge of petroleum products and hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
• CDL "Class B" Hazmat endorsement.
• HAZWOPER and Confined Space certifications.
• Knowledge of petroleum products and hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Function as part of an Emergency response team by providing services such as tank cleanings, transfers, bio-hazard cleanup, demolition, remediation, and other similar capabilities
• Display safety knowledge and generate and track written proposals for a variety of projects
• Dealing directly with customers and various state/local officials as required for projects and proposals
• Supervise and manage staff , including technicians, operators, drivers, and foremen
• Handle various products, hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Perform industrial work and biohazard cleanups
• Stage, profile, and process the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
• Assist in the removal of soil, debris and other materials, and cleaning up spill sites
• Other duties as assigned

Position Impact

The Operations supervisor will assist mentor and direct the operational activities for assigned location action.

Computer Skills:

PHYSICAL/ MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. May occasionally deal with heights. Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics. Ability to wear Personal Equipment, including Respiratory Protection. Consist of both office setting and physical jobsite. Able to work in confined spaces when needed. Ability to work in or around extreme temperatures.
