Tulsa Public Schools’ existing salary schedules provide career increment adjustments based on education/experience and/or years of creditable service. For more information about the salary for this specific position please review the Salary Schedule for the corresponding Salary Grade (listed above).

Minimum Requirements:

1. Master’s Degree from an accredited university required
2. Experience:
1. Three (3) years’ experience in program administration and the supervision of professional personnel
2. Two (2) years’ experience in a special education leadership role
3. Two (2) years’ experience in leading diverse work teams, program evaluation research methods
4. Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oklahoma teaching certificate in Special Education
5. Extensive knowledge and experience with the student referral, evaluation identification process
6. Experience working with children and youth in a special education setting; experience in an urban school setting and/or in a multicultural education environment preferred
7. Comprehensive proficiency in theories and principles of learning and evaluation knowledge of special education principles, theories and laws
8. Demonstrate ability to resolve logistical and operational problems related to special education service delivery
9. Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal special education law
10. Demonstrate knowledge of special education programs
11. General knowledge of the school District’s mission and goals, programs, facilities, and personnel
12. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
13. Bilingual in Spanish preferred
