Job summary

Methodist Hospital seeks a Supervisor of Rehab Services to lead the Physical Therapy department, ensuring high-quality, efficient patient care in line with JACHO, Medicare/Medicaid, and state licensing standards.

You will oversee staffing, quality of service, and compliance while collaborating with leadership to optimize space, facilities, and equipment for patient care excellence.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech/Language Pathology.
• Prefer 3 years or more clinical experience and acute care experience.
• Experience in TQM/CQI is recommended. Membership in professional organization is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the entire Physical Therapy department and ensures care aligns with organization standards and regulatory requirements (JCAHO, Medicare/Medicaid, state licensure).
• Responsible for quality of therapy service and customer satisfaction.
• Oversees day-to-day operations of the Physical Therapy department, staffing, and patient service quality.
• Ensures compliance with participation requirements and licensing.
• Recommends space, facilities, and equipment needs to the facility Director of Nurses.
• Contributes to department objectives by fostering fairness, teamwork, quality and safety.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Supervises entire Physical Therapy department and ensures that the care to patients is provided in accordance with the standards of care of the organization and meets the requirements or regulations of JACHO, Medicare, Medicaid, and appropriate licensing or certified boards. The supervisor is responsible for the quality of therapy service provided to patients and other customers.

Essential Job Functions

• Supervises personnel to include interviewing, work allocation, orientation, and training, staff development, problem resolution, evaluating performance, initiating personnel actions and motivating employees to achieve peak performance. Assumes responsibility for his/her employees’ output and conduct.
• Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Physical Therapy department with consideration given to staffing levels, customer service, quality service and staff satisfaction.
• Provides patient care in accordance with the guidelines set forth for a therapist in the specific discipline of the supervisor.
• Ensures Compliance with the conditions of participation, requirements or regulations of the following: JCAHO, Medicare, Medicaid, Texas State Licensures, and Certification as required.
• Makes recommendations regarding appropriate space, facilities, equipment, supplies required for optimal patient care to the facility Director of Nurses.
• Contributes to the department’s objectives by facilitating change and managing conflict by assessing situations, considering alternative to foster an environment of fairness, teamwork quality and safety.

Minimum Education and Experience
