FUNCTION:
The supervisor is responsible to the Director of Nutrition Services for the daily operation of the District #86 Department of Nutrition Services serving 8,500 lunches and 3,000 breakfasts per day, which encompasses four operating units and sixteen satellite locations, with an operating budget of $6.0 million dollars. Responsibilities include procurement of food supplies, supervision of the USDA Commodity Allocation program, inventory management of walk‑in coolers and freezers, oversight of lunchroom supervisor training, coordination of catering and menu planning. The supervisor is the senior member of the department management staff.

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The work environment is primarily indoor, occasionally outdoor, with constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines. Noise level is quiet to moderate. In‑district and out‑of‑town travel is required as necessary for training and to carry out duties and responsibilities.
