Job summary

CalOptima Health is hiring a Supervisor Nursing Services (PACE) to lead the nursing team in the PACE clinic and ensure high-quality participant care. The role reports to the Manager of Clinical Operations PACE and involves oversight of RN/LVN staff, care planning, and collaboration with clinicians and community partners.

The position is full-time and office-based in California, with potential telework approved and two days per week in the Orange main office when applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or related field PLUS 5 years of RN clinical experience.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• CPR and First-Aid Certification required or must be obtained within six months of hire.

We are hoping you will join us as a Supervisor Nursing Services (PACE)and help shape the future of healthcare where you’ll be an integral part of our PACE- Clinic team, helping to strive for excellence while we serve our member health with dignity, respecting the value and needs of each of our members through collaboration with our providers, community partners and local stakeholders. This position has been approved to be Full Office.

• If telework is approved, you are required to work within the State of California only and if Partial Telework, also come in to the Main Office in Orange, CA, at least two (2) days per week minimum.

The Supervisor of Nursing Services (PACE) is responsible for the daily operations of the Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) nursing services. You will work under the supervision of the Manager of Clinical Operations PACE, or designee, but will independently apply advanced nursing knowledge and skills to ensure high-quality care. You will maintain direct supervision of the registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses of the PACE clinic. You will lead the nursing services team, including the delivery of participant care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation. Your Contributions To the Team:

• 50% - Supervisory Functions
  • Participates in a mission-driven culture of high-quality performance, with a member focus on customer service, consistency, dignity and accountability.
  • Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short- and long-term goals/priorities for the department.
  • Hires, develops, trains, supervises and evaluates performance of the PACE nursing services staff to ensure high quality participant services and standards are met.
  • Reviews documentation by nursing staff to ensure compliance with industry and departmental standards.
  • Partners with PACE administration, Manager of Clinical Operations and direct care staff to develop and revise PACE policies and desktop references related to the PACE clinic.
  • Participates in the Interdisciplinary Team’s initial assessments, care planning and periodic reassessments (every 6 months) of the participant’s cases in accordance with industry and departmental standards and in other assigned meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintains daily oversight and ensures coordination of care is completed by nursing services staff; ensures exemplary care is rendered to all PACE participants.
  • Organizes in-service training for direct reports.
  • Provides guidance or directly handles complex direct and indirect participant care issues.
  • Serves as a resource for staff, providers, participants and community partners.
  • Assists Clinic Manager with investigating and resolving participant grievances related to nursing services as applicable.

• 45% - Program Support
  • Coordinates nursing care for participants based on established clinical nursing standards and maintains knowledge of current regulatory requirements and industry trends.
  • Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient participants care delivery and the achievement of desired participant outcomes.
  • Participates in the Interdisciplinary Team’s initial assessments, care planning and periodic reassessments (every 6 months) of the participant’s cases in accordance with industry and departmental standards and in other assigned meetings as appropriate.
  • Participates in and is a member of the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Supports a RN case load and is part of the RN on call rotation as deemed necessary.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with providers and community partners and serves as a liaison between the participants and community partners, including alternative care settings and community-based physicians.
  • Organizes in-service training for direct reports.
  • Provides guidance or directly handles complex direct and indirect participant care issues.
  • Serves as a resource for staff, providers, participants and community partners.
  • Assists Clinic Manager with investigating and resolving participant grievances related to nursing services as applicable.

• 5% - Other
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

Do You Have What the Role Requires?

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or related field PLUS 5 years of RN clinical experience required with at least 1 year working with the frail or elderly population within the last 3 years of relevant experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above may also be qualifying.
• 3 years of supervisory experience or acting in a leadership role required.
• CPR and First-Aid Certification required or must be obtained within six (6) months of date of hire.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of California required.
