Job summary

Signature Health, Inc. seeks a Supervisor, Nursing-Psychiatry to oversee the behavioral health nursing team across regional sites, champion policy implementation, and drive patient access and outcomes with a focus on quality care.

Reporting to the Manager, Nursing-Psychiatry, you will coach staff, lead process improvements, and collaborate with treatment teams to maintain compliance with state and federal standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Valid RN license in Ohio required.
  • 3+ years of experience in psychiatry (ambulatory, acute, residential or inpatient) preferred.
  • 2+ years of nursing supervisory experience in healthcare preferred.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily objectives of the Addiction Services nursing team, ensuring timely access to services and accurate documentation.
  • Oversee team members' performance with coaching and annual reviews.
  • Provide ongoing communication, teaching, and training for all team members.
  • Lead team meetings and process improvement to boost productivity and quality.
  • Support the Nursing Director in developing metrics and standardizing clinical procedures.

SCOPE OF ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Nursing-Psychiatry, the Supervisor, Nursing-Psychiatry will provide oversight, direction, and leadership of the behavioral health nursing team, while ensuring appropriate services and excellent care is received for patients and their families. The Supervisor, Nursing-Psychiatry will champion the implementation of policies and procedures in conjunction with leading the service line Nursing Team members at designated regional sites. The Supervisor, Nursing-Psychiatry drives initiatives that contribute to patient access, engagement, and positive clinical outcomes for patients.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED
  • Effectively supervise and oversee the daily objectives of the Addiction Services nursing team including, but not limited to, ensuring patient's timely access to services, buprenorphine/LAI MAT injectable induction, individual census reconciliation, staff productivity, efficient and organized communication with treatment team members, and thorough documentation.
  • Oversees team member's individual performance including ongoing coaching, development, and meeting objectives through the annual review process.
  • Provide ongoing communication, teaching, and training for all team members.
  • Actively lead team meetings and process improvement initiatives to continuously improve work productivity, quality, and efficiency of the team.
  • Support the Nursing Director in developing and implementing metrics for monitoring program effectiveness, maintain clinical protocols to support an evidenced based patient care delivery model, care coordination, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Support the Nursing Director in developing and leading effective standardization efforts related to clinical procedures, processes, and workflows to achieve high-quality, cost-effective care.
  • Ensure clinical procedures and screening practices are compliant with state and federal standards, as well as evidence based practice.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities.
  • Champions success of initiatives, practice frequent face to face interaction with staff, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement and providing education and feedback.
  • Assist team with patient care as needed, modeling and driving clinical excellence. Plan, execute and maintain daily productive nursing assignments/prescriber pairings to meet patient care needs.
  • Maintain engaged team and work closely with the psychiatry nursing and medical leadership.
  • Coordinate and meet patient care needs within department, across organizational service lines and with community partners.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Valid unencumbered RN license in the state of Ohio required.
  • 3+ years of experience in an ambulatory, acute, residential or inpatient psychiatry preferred.
  • 2+ years of nursing supervisory experience in healthcare preferred.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
  • While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
  • Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
  • Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
  • Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
  • Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
  • Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
  • Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
